Product Description:

The MQ-5 gas sensor features a sensitive material of SnO2, which has lower conductivity in clean air. When a combustible gas is present, the sensor’s conductivity increases along with the rising concentration of the gas. To measure the gas concentration, a simple electrical circuit can be used to convert the change in conductivity to an output signal.

The MQ-5 gas sensor has a high sensitivity to Methane, Propane, and Butane and can be used to detect various combustible gases, particularly Methane. It is cost-effective and suitable for various applications such as domestic gas leakage detection, industrial combustible gas detection, and portable gas detection.

The sensor has a signal output indicator and dual signal outputs, including an analog output and TTL level output. The TTL output signal is low and can be directly connected to a microcontroller. The analog output voltage ranges from 0 to 5V, and the voltage increases with the concentration of the gas. The sensor also has a fast response time and recovery characteristic and is suitable for use with Liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas, and city gas. With a long lifespan and reliable stability, the MQ-5 operates on a DC 5V power supply.
