The Teensy 4.1 is a small form factor, breadboard-friendly development board with a high-performance microcontroller. It features the NXP i.MXRT1170 chip, which includes an ARM Cortex-M7 processor running at 600 MHz and a large array of peripherals, making it a powerful and versatile development platform. The Teensy 4.1 is compatible with most pin functions of the Teensy 3.2, and offers even faster performance and more memory than previous Teensy models.
The Teensy 4.1 microcontroller has several security features including program memory protection, secure firmware update, permanent secure mode, lockable Teensy with a white lock stamp, digital signature authentication, JTAG disable, EHEX file format, and key management. The encryption process ensures that the program code is protected from unauthorized access and copying. The secure mode, only available on lockable Teensy, permanently disables the ability to run unencrypted code and enables hardware security features. The EHEX file format packages encrypted code and essential details for easy code updates. The key management process is simplified through the use of the “Teensy 4 Security” window in the Arduino Tools menu.
