The SparkFun Inventor’s Kit Lab Pack v4.1 includes 10 complete Inventor’s Kits, an SIK Refill Pack, and 50 AA-sized batteries.
The SIKs have everything needed for students to get started in electronics, including RedBoards, baseplates, breadboards, and full-color guidebooks.
The guidebooks have step-by-step instructions with circuit diagrams and hookup tables to complete five overarching projects with 16 interconnected circuits.
The final project is an autonomous robot.
The kit is pre-packaged and includes online support materials and curriculum materials from SparkFun, Arduino, and other educators involved in the maker movement.
The Arduino programming environment is a free download.
The Arduino language is easy to understand, and the community support is second to none with hundreds of examples of code available online.
Arduino is C-based and easy to link to internet-based applications and common programs such as Excel, MATLAB, LabView, and POP3 mail applications.
Arduino has a free companion language, Processing, for creating friendly interfaces, graphing, gaming options, and data visualization.
