The universal adapter is specifically designed for use with devices in PLCC28/LCC28 (Plastic Leaded Chip Carrier) packages, such as SPLDs (Simple Programmable Logic Devices), PROMs (Programmable Read-Only Memories), Philips/NXP LPC series, Zilog Z86xxx series, and other similar devices.

The adapter features a ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) socket with an OpenTop type design, allowing for easy insertion and removal of devices for programming. The ZIF socket has an operating (mechanical) warranty of 10,000 actuations, ensuring its durability and long-lasting performance.

The bottom of the adapter has 2 rows with 2×14 pins each, arranged in a square pattern with a pitch of 0.6×0.6mm (600 mil) between the rows. This configuration is specifically tailored to the pinout arrangement of PLCC28/LCC28 devices, ensuring a secure and reliable connection during programming.

The adapter is made in Slovakia, known for its quality manufacturing. It is identified by the Ord. no. 70-0066 and is suitable for programming various devices in PLCC28/LCC28 packages, including SPLDs, PROMs, Philips/NXP LPC series, Zilog Z86xxx series, and other similar devices.

In addition to the universal adapter, there is also a DIL28/PLCC28 ZIF-CS (Zero Insertion Force – Contactless Switching) adapter available, which is specifically designed for mass-production purposes.
