The DS14287 is a real-time clock (RTC) with NVRAM control, designed for timekeeping applications that require precise calendar and clock functions. It serves as a direct replacement for the IBM AT computer clock/calendar and is functionally compatible with DS1285/DS1287 RTC modules. This RTC provides automatic power-fail detection and backup switching, ensuring that time and calendar data remain valid during power outages. With a wide time-tracking range, the DS14287 supports seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year counting, including leap year correction up to the year 2100. The RTC supports binary and BCD formats, allowing flexible integration into legacy and modern digital systems. It features programmable alarms, periodic interrupts, and a 4.19 MHz clock frequency, making it ideal for timing-sensitive applications.
