Grove - IR Distance Interrupter v1.2

The Grove IR Distance Interrupter v1.2 is a digital infrared object detection sensor designed to detect objects interrupting an infrared light beam. It uses a reflective infrared sensor (an IR emitting diode paired with a phototransistor) that senses the reflected IR signal from nearby surfaces. When an object is present in front of the sensor within its detection range, the output switches to a digital HIGH, and the onboard indicator LED lights up to show detection. When no object is detected or it is outside the effective range, the output remains digital LOW and the LED is off. This sensor also includes an adjustable potentiometer for fine-tuning the sensitivity of the infrared detection.

This module is popular in robotics, automation, object counting, optical encoders, and any project requiring simple presence detection without complex measuring circuits. It uses a standard Grove connector for plug-and-play connectivity with compatible development boards like Arduino and Raspberry Pi (via Base Shields).
