The MKR NB 1500 is ideal for devices situated in remote areas without an Internet connection or where power sources are scarce, such as on-field deployments, remote metering systems, or solar-powered devices in extreme conditions.
This board is powered by a low-power Arm® Cortex®-M0 32-bit SAMD21 microcontroller, similar to other boards in the Arduino MKR family. The Narrowband communication is enabled by the u-blox SARA-R410M-02B module, a low-power chipset that operates across different bands within the IoT LTE cellular spectrum. Secure communication is provided by the Microchip® ECC508 crypto chip. Additionally, the board is equipped with a battery charger and an external antenna connector.
Designed for global use, it supports connectivity on LTE's Cat M1/NB1 bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, and 28. Supported operators in these bands include Vodafone, AT&T, T-Mobile USA, Telstra, and Verizon, among others.
Battery Power: Flexible and Reliable The USB port can be used to provide power (5V) to the board. A built-in Li-Po charging circuit allows the board to operate on either battery power or an external 5V source, while simultaneously charging the battery when external power is available. The switch between power sources is managed automatically.
