The LCD (liquid crystal display) uses the standard 7-segment format with inter-digit decimal points and alterN/Ate inter-digit colons. The black segments appear against a silver background for ease of reading and it has a wide viewing angle for versatile use. The unit is supplied as a flat glass plate with rigid pins in a dual in line (DIL) package format, which is a rectangular housing with two parallel rows of electrical connecting pins.
