ZP20A Stud Mount Power Rectifier

The ZP20A is an industrial grade silicon power diode designed for medium to high current rectification. It utilizes a stud mount mechanical design which allows the diode to be bolted directly onto a chassis or a dedicated heat sink. This direct physical connection is vital for thermal management as it ensures the heat generated during the 20 Ampere operation is efficiently moved away from the semiconductor junction. These diodes are frequently used in battery charging systems, small welding machines, and power supplies for industrial equipment. Because of their robust construction, they can withstand harsh electrical environments better than standard plastic through hole components. Most ZP20A diodes are available in two polarities: standard polarity where the stud is the cathode and reverse polarity where the stud is the anode. This allows for flexible mounting when building rectifier bridges.
