UF4007 Ultrafast Recovery Rectifier

The UF4007 is a high voltage, ultrafast recovery power diode housed in a standard DO-41 axial lead plastic package. It is specifically engineered for high frequency rectification and freewheeling applications where standard rectifiers like the 1N4007 would be too slow. Its primary advantage is its 75 nanosecond recovery time, which significantly reduces switching losses and electromagnetic interference in fast switching environments. Commonly found in switching power supplies, inverters, and high frequency converters, the UF4007 is often used for its soft recovery characteristics that prevent voltage spikes during high speed operation. While it shares the same 1000 Volt and 1 Ampere ratings as the common 1N4007, it cannot always be replaced by it in high frequency circuits because the 1N4007 is far slower and would likely overheat.
