KA5M0365R Fairchild Power Switch (FPS)

The KA5M0365R is an integrated Fairchild Power Switch (FPS) specifically designed for off-line switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) with minimal external components. This device combines a high-voltage power SenseFET with a current-mode PWM control IC in a single package. It features a high-voltage startup switch and various self-protection circuits such as under-voltage lockout (UVLO), overload protection (OLP), and thermal shutdown (TSD). By integrating these functions, it significantly reduces the cost, size, and complexity of power supply designs for products like battery chargers, television sets, and auxiliary power supplies. The TO-220F-4L package is fully encapsulated in plastic, providing electrical insulation from the heat sink, which simplifies mechanical assembly and improves overall safety.
