The SiK Telemetry Radio by Holybro is a compact, lightweight, and cost-effective open source radio system that can transmit serial data over 300m without additional configuration. It utilizes the open source SiK firmware, enabling easy transmission of various serial data, including telemetry, RTK correction data, or simple Serial.print() statements.
This telemetry kit includes two radio modules, a microB USB cable, microB OTG cable, two JST-GH cables, two right-angled RP-SMA connectors, two 915MHz antennas, and a Type-C Adapter. Each radio module in the kit offers a 100mW transmit power, -117dB RX sensitivity, and a full duplex transparent serial link of 57600baud, along with microB USB and UART ports for effortless connectivity.
Both radios feature a microB connector and use the FT230x USB to serial IC, making it incredibly convenient to pass serial data between a remote radio and a base computer or cell phone. Configuring the radios is straightforward using simple AT commands, and the provided JST-GH cables ensure easy and secure connections to the TX/RX pins of the radio.
The radio system is plug-n-play compatible with Pixhawk Standard and other Flight Controllers, simplifying the setup of a telemetry connection between your Autopilot and a ground station. For use with a different controller, minor adjustments may be needed, such as cutting one of the provided JST-GH cables and tinning the ends for insertion into Arduino headers or soldering the connections to the remote unit. Once set up, simply plug the other module into the USB port on your base station, computer, or cell phone for seamless communication.
