Design and build a smart home system using Internet of Things (IoT) technology.

Full Workshop Description:

This course introduces students to the rapidly growing world of IoT by allowing them to design a connected smart home model. They will program sensors and devices to perform automated tasks such as lighting, temperature control, and security. Through this experience, students understand real-world applications of smart tech and home automation.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the fundamentals of IoT and smart devices

  • Use sensors to gather and respond to environmental data

  • Program automated routines for smart systems

  • Fully hands-on workshop.

Target Audience:

Ages 12–18 with basic knowledge of programming

Tools Used:

Arduino, Wi-Fi module (ESP8266/NodeMCU), Relays, Temperature sensors, LEDs, Security sensors
