This is a high-quality, easy to use 28 pin [ZIF](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZIF_socket) socket that is 0.3″ wide. Makes for easy connecting or programming to DIP ICs. Uses high conductivity terminals create solid connections. Can also be used for smaller pin packages.
Good thing there’s a [patent](http://www.google.com/patents?id=sTtcAAAAEBAJ&dq=3502889) on it!
