The KA5M0380R Fairchild Power Switch (FPS) integrates a high-voltage power SenseFET and current mode PWM IC, specifically designed for off-line SMPS applications. This device operates at fixed frequencies of 67/50kHz, allowing for efficient power conversion while minimizing external components.

It incorporates built-in protection features such as thermal shutdown, pulse-by-pulse current limiting, and overvoltage protection, making it highly reliable for use in flyback or forward converters. The KA5M0380R is widely used in VCRs, STBs, and adapter circuits due to its robust performance.

Key Features :

  • High-voltage MOSFET integrated (800V, 3A) for reliable power conversion.
  • Precision fixed frequency operation (100/67/50kHz) optimizes efficiency.
  • Pulse-by-pulse current limiting enhances overload protection.
  • Built-in thermal shutdown and overvoltage protection ensure long-term reliability.
  • Operates in either flyback or forward converter topologies.
  • Optimized gate turn-on/turn-off driver minimizes switching losses for improved overall performance.
